End of sem2

Ho ho. I've taken so long to do this post that the semester ended before I could finish it. So now it's a completely different entry. Oh well.

This semester has been lots of fun with many memorable events. In particular, there was our first Open House, the best Tembusu Forum (so far), and the hair show by Shunji Matsuo. Admittedly, the hair show was the weirdest of all the events this semester, but it was really enjoyable. I remember it as a good break from a very, very stressful week. I suppose what I liked best about the hair show was that it was utterly random. I heard from someone that the hair show was initiated as a Master's Tea, but Mr. Matsuo obviously had something more flash and bang in mind. I suppose in it's own strange way it kept to the spirit of the Tea series since it exposed us to Mr. Matsuo's profession and personal life while garnering student involvement. The hair show also stands testament to the fact that nearly anything is possible in Tembusu. Very exciting stuff.

And that reminds me that Tembusu is hosting a barcamp this weekend! I am not even sure what exactly happens in a barcamp, or if I can even attend it, but it seems very cool. From my understanding, it's an informal forum where presenters put up discussion topics up for votes; topics with the most support gets presented. In short it's a really democratic and seemingly efficient (time-wise and intellectually) conference. I'd really like to know what they're actually like though. If only it was held during our semester, it wouldn't be inconvenient to drop in for a talk or two.

To end off, I'd like to welcome Tembusu's awesome new mural! I'll try to find a nice picture of it and upload it soon.

Ciao.
