Tembusu Forum: Climate Change

In view of the previous Tembusu Forum, I made two predictions about future Forums. Here they are:

1) There will be at least one ambassador at each event

2) The first presenter will be an ambassador, to set the grounds of the discussion

And guess what? I was right! There was one ambassador, Ambassador Burhan Gafoor, last night, and he was the first speaker.

Other than that, I didn't find the forum very satisfying. It was really linear, and far too optimistic. All the speakers agreed that Climate Change was a pressing and complex problem, but none of them had the balls to admit the aspects of the issue that are beyond them.

I also disliked it that the forum turned out to be largely one-sided. There were a few interesting points and perspectives here and there, but none of them were thoroughly explored.

I don't even have the heart to go on about this.

Anyway, Prof. K didn't chair this forum because he was unwell. Prof. C did it in his place. It's a shame, really, because I was looking forward to hearing Prof. K speak about a topic so close to his heart.

Oh well. Get well soon, Prof K.
