New Committee but No King

Hello everyone, it has been announced that the elections were successful — we now have a new CSC! All eleven candidates were voted in by the majority. The only bit of information the election committee conveniently left out was the full election statistics. Anyway, I hope this spells the end of this election fiasco.

In other news, a kind person has volunteered some pictures of the tree stump table installation. This is really for those who missed out. Pictures after the jump.

Content of the poster:
There have been many controversies recently about the election of the 3rd CSC. Many referendums, open letters, notes, and comments have been posted on the Unofficial Tembusu Facebook group, taking many hours to reach a suitable compromise for all parties involved. It is thought that this trend highlights a larger problem with the nature of student government. Quite simply, we – a concerned portion of the electorate – believe that democracy has failed. Therefore we believe that the best way out of this mess if to have Tembusu elect a king instead!
This king will be selected by way of pulling a sword out of a Tembusu tree stump.

There are many benefits to a monarchy. For instance, there are:

     - Kingly feasts
     - The building of large castles to defend the throne
     - The election of knights to defend the realm
     - Royal weddings
     - Dragons

And most importantly:

     - The avoidance of unproductive controversy. Once the sword has been pulled, we will have a king. This is so much simpler!

It is our hope that the powers that be will take our suggestion seriously. We await our future king with baited [sic] breath.
